Jessica Whitta is an Auckland based freelance creative with over 10 years’ industry experience.

Previously the Design Lead at Barfoot & Thompson, I managed the company’s in-house design team who were responsible for creating personal marketing for 1800 salespeople, bespoke pitch documents, project collateral, corporate and sponsorship advertising campaigns, stationery and design for both local and international events.

After five years, I moved to Property Developer Willis Bond where I was the Marketing Manager for a mixed-use precinct. Responsibilities included planning advertising campaigns, launching project websites, hosting networking events and providing design and marketing support to the precinct’s local Farmers Market. Due to my creative background, I jumped between the company’s portfolio of projects in Auckland and Wellington where I was involved in creating advertising campaigns, developing digital sales tools, websites, designing signage, print collateral and executing display suite fit-outs.

At the beginning of 2020, I left to start my own freelance design business. Since early 2020, I have worked on multiple commercial and residential projects in Auckland, Wellington and Queenstown. I continue to work closely with numerous property developers and agencies nationwide.

Auckland based, I am able to work remotely or visit any Auckland business in person. I would love to meet and discuss how I can help you with your next design and/or marketing project.

What is the process?

  1. Jobs can be briefed in person, by email or over the phone.

  2. I will provide a job break-down estimate either by line item or hourly rate.

  3. Once both parties are agreed on the estimate and indicative deadlines I will start the job. Throughout the job, there will multiple check-ins with the client to ensure the design/marketing aligns with the client’s expectations.

  4. Once signed-off, final artwork is prepped for output and the invoice for work completed sent. If it is a large job over multiple months, then a monthly invoice of time spent to date is sent.

Unsure what a design brief should look like?

I’ve made a handy interactive pdf that you can fill in and email back. Click below and download.

I’d love to catch up and discuss how I can help you on your next project.
